2017 Annual New York Makers Faire

On September 23 and 24 we embarked on our way to our biggest faire yet, The 2017 Annual New York Makers Faire.

On September 23 and 24 we embarked on our way to our biggest faire yet, The 2017 Annual New York Makers Faire. We were lucky enough to have an amazing spot right by the entrance and close to all the big companies.

Everywhere you looked there was something to see, from a giant fire-breathing dragon to drones hovering in the air, and even Kermit riding a bicycle! We decided to go all out and bring everything we had. We had everything from our Makey Makey’s to our HoloTats and even Jerry! We also gained a new attraction thanks to the guys at Piper! They decided to let us use one of their Piper boxes and it was a great help in attracting new people. The Piper box is a Mini computer that uses a Raspberry Pi along with a pre-installed version of Minecraft to teach kids building, coding, circuitry, and electricity. If you want to check out their website click here and if you want to grab your own Piper box you can either buy it from our store or Piper’s store.

It was amazing to participate in this event and it was a surreal feeling to be surrounded by people from all over connected by being makers. We saw many great companies and met tons of new people. I really hope that we’ll be able to come back next and even though we were exhausted at the end of it, it was the thrill of a lifetime. We even managed to get a ribbon from the Managers of the Maker Faire!!! We are very grateful that we were given the chance to go and for the ribbon. Next year we plan on leaving with even more ribbons.
